Charm                                                                                             

Charm was inspired by a place very close to Neil’s heart: Lynton and Lynmouth in North Devon. He is also a long-time friend of artist Maurice Bishop, who has a well-known painting studio there. Neil has known Maurice for many years, and his work has been a continual source of inspiration. With Maurice’s kind permission, several of Neil’s favourite paintings have been incorporated into the album artwork and accompanying videos.

Neil has always been drawn to this style of music and is very happy to be writing and recording in this format. The album was recorded between December 2021 and August 2023 at Artefax Studios in Lausanne, Switzerland, and Lodge Studios in Wiltshire, UK.

He is extremely pleased with the album and feels it represents a new creative direction he is keen to explore further.

Neil is thrilled to be working once again with his close friend and producer, Berni Amaudruz. Shimmering Shadows was released as the first single in December 2023, followed by the album release in January 2024, under Neil Lucas Productions’ own label.

When asked about favourite tracks, Neil’s answer is simple: all of them.
