Originally written and recorded in Switzerland in 2000, Cocktail Train marked the beginning of Neil Lucas’s creative journey in Montreux and his first collaboration there with close friend and producer Berni Amaudruz.

While recently working on new material, Neil rediscovered alternative versions of the track buried in the archives. Inspired by their raw energy, he returned to the song with fresh perspective, reshaping it into a newly balanced and more visceral interpretation- now titled Cocktail Train (Grunge Mix).

At its heart, Cocktail Train is pure escapism: a late-night fantasy of a disco train in motion, fuelled by cocktails, champagne, and unapologetic fun! The new mix leans into an earthy, grittier texture, giving the track a darker edge while keeping its playful spirit intact.

Re-released 23 years after its original appearance on the Play album, Neil is especially proud of the grunge-infused character the track has evolved into- a bridge between past inspiration and present sound.
