Paradox was recorded between December 2018 and June 2021 at Artefax Studios in Lausanne, Switzerland, and Lodge Studios in Wiltshire, UK.

Released as a three-disc box set, Paradox unfolds across two CDs and a DVD, revealing the full scope of Neil’s musical vision.

Disc One – The Paradox Album
The core album features ten tracks spanning a wide range of styles, from opera and disco to reflective ballads. Neil’s instinct to explore new musical ground is balanced by his enduring love of classical influences, which are woven throughout the work. The disc also includes two bonus instrumental tracks.

Disc Two – DVD
The accompanying DVD presents ten films created for the album, shot across Switzerland and the UK. These visuals move freely between ballet, space imagery, disco, and experimental bonus material. Neil is particularly proud of this collection, which expands the music into a fully visual experience.

Disc Three – Chillout Instrumentals
The third disc offers a chilled, instrumental reimagining of the album. It features collaborations with Swiss musicians, including the outstanding saxophonist and clarinettist Jean-Samuel Racine, alongside exceptional British performers.

Neil considers Paradox the strongest music he has ever written and recorded. Returning to work with his close friend and producer Berni Amaudruz, and surrounded by remarkable musicians, made the process especially rewarding.

Released in August 2021 on Neil Lucas Productions, the album remains a defining moment in his catalogue. While his favourites include Live If You Dare, Edge of Time, and Solitary Life, Neil often admits — it’s all of them!
